What does the service include?

Backup and disaster recovery answer different questions. Backup answers “can we get this data back?”; disaster recovery answers “how long until the business is running again, and from where?”. Vinetu designs both, and states in writing which one a customer has bought.

Vinetu has resold and deployed Veeam solutions for many years and is a Veeam cloud service provider. Customer backups can be kept on-premises, copied off-site to EMCloud with Veeam Cloud Connect, or both. Because EMCloud runs in two independent facilities, off-site copies and recovery environments sit on infrastructure that Vinetu owns and operates in Israel.

Disaster Recovery as a Service is contracted per customer. The recovery architecture, the systems in scope, the RPO and RTO, the failover and failback procedure and the test schedule are defined in the service agreement, and are not implied by a backup subscription.

• Organizations whose backup has never been restored end-to-end under realistic conditions.
• IT managers who need an off-site copy outside the building, the network and the admin credentials of the primary site.
• Companies that must show management or auditors a documented recovery plan with agreed objectives.
• Existing EMCloud customers who need recovery commitments beyond the standard platform backup.

Problems it solves

• A single backup copy in the same server room as production, exposed to the same outage, fire or ransomware.
• Backups that run nightly but have no verified restore, no documented procedure and no owner.
• Recovery objectives that were never agreed with the business, so nobody knows what “recovered” means.
• Ransomware that reaches backup repositories through the same domain credentials as production.

• Disaster Recovery as a Service: replication to EMCloud, runbooks, failover and failback procedures, with RPO and RTO defined per contract.
• Scheduled restore tests and DR tests with written results.
• Ongoing monitoring of backup jobs, capacity and failures, with remediation.

How we deliver it

1. Assess

   Classify systems by business impact, measure data volumes and change rates, and agree recovery priorities with the business owners.

2. Design

   Design repositories, off-site targets, retention, encryption and access separation, and document the recovery objectives per system.

3. Implement

   Deploy and configure Veeam, connect off-site copies to EMCloud through Veeam Cloud Connect, and build DR replication where contracted.

4. Validate

   Run a full restore test and, for DR, a controlled failover test; record the achieved recovery times and fix what did not work.

5. Operate

   Monitor jobs daily, handle failures, repeat restore and DR tests on schedule, and update runbooks when systems change.

Vinetu does not publish a generic RPO or RTO. Recovery objectives are set per customer and per system, and become commitments only when written into a contracted DR service.
